Driving thru Arizona was hotter than heck! Phoenix had an average temp of 116 and nights were at a cool 98. My truck AC was on as soon as we got in. We spent some time with my family and friends i Casa Grande and to my birth town of Eloy, Az. The building I was born in is still there and is used as a medical clinic. We then drove to Phoenix to catch the D-backs host our A's. As we pulled up to the stadium, nothing on the outside impressed me other than the parking was only 10.00 and was right next door. We paid $6.00 per ticket for nose bleed seat and went in. Inside was a different story. From the moment we walked in, the AC hit us and two steps into the stadium we could see the field. Awesome was my first thought! Great views were seen from all areas. I chatted with an usher and he recommended I go to the top level to get the best view. Since we had nosebleeds we went up to our seats. Sat up there for 3 innings and decided to take a walk. Walked the whole stadium and then decided to get a better view of the game. We cruised on down and found better seats closer to the field and watched a good game. Unfortunately ,A's lost 2-1. None the less we had a great time. Next stop would be Old Tucson Studios where classic wesern films like Rio Bravo, The outlaw Josey Wales and Tombstone were shot. We walked the dirt streets where legends like John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Elizabeth Taylor and Kurt Russell Made their classic films. We kicked back at the Grand Palace and watched gals kick up their heels. We witnessed an attempted bank robbery and a good old gunfight in front of the Pima Bank. Elizabeth panned for gold and I visited the local bath house for a 25 Cent "fresh creek water" bath. Elizabeth also caught the sheriff taking a nap. When we left Old Tucson my truck temp. was reading 123! Not sure how accurate that was but let me tell you .IT WAS HOT.
